Maribeth Christensen is the founder and owner of Oak City Accounting, a women-owned CPA firm in Raleigh, North Carolina dedicated to helping entrepreneurs and small business owners build stronger, more profitable companies. With more than 30 years of experience in public accounting, tax planning, and financial consulting, Maribeth is known for practical advice, proactive tax strategies, and the financial clarity business owners need to make confident decisions.

As both a Certified Public Accountant and a business owner herself, Maribeth understands firsthand the challenges of running a growing company. She works closely with clients across the Raleigh-Durham Triangle area on tax planning, tax preparation, bookkeeping services, financial reporting, and small business consulting — helping them minimize taxes, improve cash flow, and plan for long-term growth. Her philosophy is simple: accounting should do more than keep score. It should help business owners grow.

Maribeth holds a Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and a Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Creighton University. She has been a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) since 1992, with prior leadership experience at Deloitte, Merrill Lynch, and Revlon before launching her own Raleigh accounting practice.

A passionate advocate for entrepreneurship and women in business, Maribeth is deeply engaged in the local business community. She serves as President of the EO Raleigh-Durham Chapter for the 2026–2027 term, leading a community of entrepreneurs committed to learning, leadership, and shared experience. She also holds a leadership role with NAWBO Greater Raleigh and champions organizations that empower women business owners and strengthen the local community. Through Oak City Accounting, she proudly partners with WBON of the Triangle and numerous local nonprofits.

Outside the office, Maribeth can be found cycling Raleigh’s greenways, walking her golden retrievers, Emma and Josie, or enjoying live music at festivals like MerleFest and the Albino Skunk Festival. Above all, she treasures time with her three adult children and believes the strongest businesses and the strongest communities are built on meaningful relationships, trust, and service.
