Maribeth Christensen is a seasoned CPA, entrepreneur, and trusted advisor who has spent more than three decades helping individuals and small business owners gain clarity, confidence, and control over their finances. As the founder of Oak City Accounting and a successful business owner herself, she understands the challenges entrepreneurs face and is passionate about helping clients make informed financial decisions that support long-term success.
Known for her practical approach and commitment to accuracy, Maribeth helps clients navigate everything from tax planning and compliance to bookkeeping, financial reporting, and business growth strategies. Whether preparing for tax season, applying for financing, or planning for the future, she ensures her clients have reliable financial information they can trust.
Maribeth earned her Master of Accounting from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and her Bachelor of Arts in Economics from Creighton University. A Certified Public Accountant since 1992, she has built an impressive career that includes leadership roles with Deloitte, Merrill Lynch, and Revlon, bringing extensive corporate and entrepreneurial experience to every client relationship.
Beyond her work with clients, Maribeth is deeply committed to supporting the local business community. She is actively involved in the EO Raleigh-Durham chapter, part of the global Entrepreneurs’ Organization, a network of more than 18,000 business owners across 75+ countries dedicated to learning, leadership, and growth. She also serves in a leadership role with NAWBO Greater Raleigh and is a strong advocate for women-owned businesses. Through Oak City Accounting, she proudly supports WBON of the Triangle, a nonprofit organization focused on educating women business owners and giving back to nonprofits throughout our community.
When she’s not helping clients achieve their financial goals, Maribeth enjoys cycling Raleigh’s greenways, walking her golden retrievers, Emma and Josie, and attending live music festivals such as MerleFest and the Albino Skunk Festival. She is also a proud mother of three adult children who continue to inspire her every day.
